Zhenyang (David) Tang is an Associate Professor at Clark University's School of Business, with affiliations in the School of Management. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Alberta (2014), an M.A. in Quantitative Economics from Tsinghua University (2009), and a B.A. in Economics from Tsinghua University (2007).
His research focuses on insider trading, religion's impact on corporate behavior, venture capital dynamics, and corporate social responsibility (CSR). Key themes include analyzing how religious beliefs influence CEO decisions, the relationship between CSR and market reactions, and the effects of provincial GDP manipulation on firm performance. Tang’s work bridges finance, ethics, and corporate strategy, with a particular focus on Asian markets.
Recent studies investigate how corporate site visits by analysts improve labor efficiency, the connection between CEO social media presence and insider trading, and the role of religion in cross-border M&A. His work has been presented at major conferences like the Academy of Management Annual Meeting and the Financial Management Association Annual Meeting.
