Zhenlin Yang

Dr. Zhenlin Yang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at the School of Medicine, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). He earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and conducted postdoctoral research at UC Berkeley/HHMI under Professor Eva Nogales.

His publications span high-impact journals like Science, Cell, and Nature Genetics, emphasizing structural insights into chromatin regulatory proteins and their roles in transcription, immunity, and plant development. Key themes include histone modifications, enzyme mechanisms, and epigenetic crosstalk.

Awarded the Special Prize of the President Award and Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Dr. Yang combines biochemical reconstitution with functional validation to advance targeted interventions in chromatin-related diseases. He established his independent laboratory at SUSTech in 2025.
