Zheng Ma

Dr. Zheng Ma is a Senior Lecturer in Public Health at the School of Health and Social Wellbeing, University of the West of England (UWE Bristol). With over 12 years of teaching and research experience spanning the UK, China, Malaysia, and New Zealand, Dr. Ma contributes to advanced public health education and research in dietary approaches for brain health, healthy ageing, and wellbeing.

Dr. Ma's academic background includes:

• PhD from the University of Otago
• MSc from the University of Glasgow
• PGCert in Teaching and Supporting Learning in Higher Education (with Merit) from the University of Liverpool
• BSc (Hons) from Universiti Malaysia Sabah

Additionally, Dr. Ma completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Medical Science (Epidemiology & Biostatistics) at Universiti Sains Malaysia.

Research interests focus on generating and synthesizing knowledge in public health nutrition, healthy ageing, and technology-enhanced learning. Dr. Ma utilizes longitudinal and big datasets (UK Biobank, NHANES, GBD, CHNS) to investigate diet-health relationships in diverse populations, particularly older adults. This work has positioned Dr. Ma in the World's Top 2% Scientists List by Stanford University for four consecutive years (2021-2024).
