Zheng Jia

Zheng Jia is a researcher in the Department of Automatic Control at Lund University's Faculty of Engineering (LTH), where he joined in September 2021. His work bridges theoretical and applied aspects of robotics and control systems.

His research interests focus on robotic motion planning and control, particularly for mobile manipulators. He aims to develop methods for planning time-optimal trajectories that simultaneously consider path, velocity, and forces, enable online tracking with velocity adjustments, ensure safety and resilience, and maintain robustness under model uncertainties. These efforts contribute to efficient and adaptive autonomous robotic systems.

Zheng Jia teaches courses including Applied Robotics (FRTF20), Project in Automatic Control (FRTN40), and Mathematical Modelling (FRTN45), contributing to both foundational and advanced education in systems and control.

He completed his Bachelor's in Electronic and Information Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2013 and earned a Master's in Robotics, Systems and Control from ETH Zurich in 2017. He gained research experience as an intern at UC Berkeley's HiPeR Lab under Professor Mark Mueller (2018) and at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in the Intelligent Control Systems group supervised by Professor Sebastian Trimpe and Dr. Andreas Rene Geist (2019–2020).
