Zheng Dong

Dr. Zheng Dong is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Wayne State University, where he directs the Real-Time Systems Group and co-directs the NSF IUCRC eCAT Center. His research focuses on safety-critical cyber-physical systems with emphasis on timing predictability in autonomous driving technologies.

His NSF CAREER-funded project 'ChronosDrive' develops methods to ensure timing correctness in DNN-driven autonomous vehicles through accelerator-enhanced real-time system-on-chip integration. Current research thrusts include hardware-software co-design for real-time SoCs, predictable perception pipelines, and edge-enabled autonomous systems.

Dr. Dong has received multiple honors including NSF CAREER and CRII awards, and the IEEE RTSS 2017 Outstanding Paper Award. He currently advises PhD students working on autonomous systems and real-time computing challenges.
