Zeyu Liu is a Simons Fellow and Unit 18 Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley. He joined the institution in 2024 as a postdoctoral researcher and instructor.
- Education: PhD in Mathematics from University of California San Diego (2024), advised by Kiran Kedlaya
- Affiliation: Department of Mathematics, UC Berkeley
His research interests focus on p-adic geometry and p-adic Hodge theory, with particular emphasis on prismatic crystals, non-archimedean geometry, and cohomology theories in arithmetic contexts.
In teaching, he serves as an instructor for Math 113: Introduction to Abstract Algebra (Spring 2025) and co-organizes the Berkeley RTG Arithmetic Geometry, Number Theory and Representation theory Seminar with Tony Feng and Danielle Wang.
Scientific awards include:
- Simons Fellowship
His publications demonstrate expertise in arithmetic geometry, algebraic stacks, and crystalline cohomology through innovative approaches to q-prism charts and prismatization beyond the Hodge-Tate locus.
