Zeynal Karaca is an Adjunct Professor at the McCourt School of Public Policy, Georgetown University, and a senior economist at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). With over 15 years of experience, his work spans economic research, statistical modeling, health policy analysis, and healthcare measurement.
His research focuses on key issues in health economics, including pricing and competition in physician and hospital services, physician practice patterns, hospital payments and costs, and the impact of market forces on healthcare cost, access, and quality. He has extensively studied managed care enrollment, service utilization, and the role of quality in hospital markets.
Zeynal has published in leading journals such as Health Affairs, Health Services Research, Medical Care, Production and Operations Management, and NBER Working Papers. His scholarly output reflects strong interdisciplinary engagement across health services research, economics, and public policy.

He contributes to program and contract management in large-scale health research initiatives.
