Zeyang (Arthur) Yu is an Assistant Professor in Princeton University's Department of Politics. His research specializes in causal inference methods and empirical political economy, with current work developing novel statistical approaches to analyze persuasion mechanisms in political communication. He also studies how political institutions influence economic outcomes, with a particular focus on Chinese politics and bureaucratic organizations.
Yu earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Chicago. His scholarly contributions include methodological advances in causal inference and empirical studies of authoritarian governance. His research has been recognized with multiple honors including the Tom Ten Have Poster Award at the American Causal Inference Conference (2022) and the Stigler Center Dissertation Award (2020).
At Princeton, Yu teaches courses in quantitative social science and research methodology. His publications appear in leading journals including Political Science Research and Methods and Party Politics, examining topics ranging from propaganda effects to bureaucratic mobility patterns in authoritarian systems.
