Zelia Maria da Silva Serrasqueiro

Zelia Maria da Silva Serrasqueiro is a Full Professor in Management at the University of Beira Interior (UBI) since February 2016. She serves as the Branch Coordinator of the Centre for Advanced Studies in Management and Economics (CEFAGE) at UBI since October 2021 and is the Director of the PhD Programme in Management offered by UBI.

Her research focuses on corporate finance, capital structure, and SMEs, with a particular emphasis on zero leverage policies and financial performance dynamics. She also explores intersections between business sciences, tourism economics, and sustainable development.

Recent publications analyze zero leverage persistence, debt policy determinants, and financial strategies in SMEs and the health sector. Her work employs advanced econometric methods and comparative studies across European contexts.
