Zekai Murat Kilic is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at The University of Manchester. His research focuses on digital manufacturing integration, Industry 4.0 applications, and machining dynamics with an emphasis on process control and optimization. He holds a PhD from the University of British Columbia (2015) and master's and bachelor's degrees from Middle East Technical University (2009 and 2006).
Key research areas include cutting force modeling, tool geometry optimization, and vibration suppression in machining processes. He has developed innovative methods for chatter mitigation using viscous fluids and asymmetric tool designs. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to industry innovation and infrastructure (Goal 9) and responsible consumption and production (Goal 12).
