Zeev Maoz is a Distinguished Professor of Political Science at the University of California, Davis and Director of the Correlates of War Project. He previously held leadership roles at Tel-Aviv University, the University of Haifa, and Israel Defense Forces institutions. His research focuses on international relations, security studies, and political methodology, with a particular emphasis on Middle East politics and network analysis.
He earned a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan and has held visiting positions at Carnegie-Mellon, NYU, Rice, and others. His work includes twelve authored/edited books, such as Networks of Nations and Scriptures, Saints, and World Politics. He serves on editorial boards of top journals like the Journal of Conflict Resolution and received the Karl Deutsch Award for scholarly contributions.
Current research explores network dynamics, democratic peace theory, and Israeli foreign policy. He advises on international security and has pioneered cooperative network analysis linking domestic and global political structures.
