Professor Zdeněk R. Nešpor is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University, and a Senior Researcher at the Czech Academy of Sciences, Institute of Sociology. He holds a PhD in History (2005) and Habilitation (2009) from Charles University, with MA degrees in Social Anthropology (2001) and History of Religions (2002).

His publications analyze religious decline in Bohemia, cremation movements, and Czech sociology of religion under authoritarian regimes. He has held editorial roles at Urban People and Czech Sociological Review, and served on national academic committees.
Scientific awards and fellowships include appointments at EHESS Paris (2006) and University of California Santa Barbara (2007).
