Zanda Priede is an Associate Professor and Acting Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at Riga Stradiņš University. Her expertise spans clinical neurology with a focus on stroke, multiple sclerosis, and dementia diagnostics. She serves as Study Process Coordinator in her department and has held roles as an Expert in Clinical Medicine with the Latvian Council of Science (2017–2020 and 2022–2025).
Her academic background includes clinical medicine specialization, and she actively publishes in peer-reviewed journals. Key research interests include stroke pathophysiology (e.g., cardioembolic stroke mechanisms), neuroimaging applications in neurological disorders, and diagnostic challenges in Alzheimer’s disease. She has contributed to case studies involving rare neurological conditions like Schimmelpenning syndrome with astrocytoma and cavum septum pellucidum cysts.
Dr. Priede has received notable awards including the Golden Owl (2018) and Certificate of Appreciation (2019).
