Zafer Attal

Zafer Attal, M.Sc., is a Research Associate and PhD student at the Chair of Integrated Systems, Technical University of Munich (TUM), within the TUM School of Computation, Information and Technology. His work focuses on automotive systems, anomaly detection via Ethernet, and hardware-software integration.

Education:

• Master of Science in Communication Engineering, TUM (2019-2022)
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Middle East Technical University, Turkey (2015-2019)

Research Interests: Zafer's research spans automotive Ethernet anomaly detection, SoC architectures, FPGA integration, and time-sensitive networking (TSN). He investigates how processing unit deviations propagate through in-vehicle networks and develops diagnostic solutions for functional safety in automated driving systems.

Supervision: He has supervised Master's and project theses on topics including automotive Ethernet mitigation strategies, software migration to ZCU102 boards, and functional chain implementations on Aurix boards.
