Zachary Niese

Zachary Niese is a Research Fellow in the Department of Psychology at the University of Tübingen's Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. His work focuses on social cognition, judgment and decision making, and evaluative processes, with particular expertise in sampling processes and visual imagery perspective effects. He has established himself as a significant contributor to understanding how people form evaluations and make decisions based on their experiences and cognitive processing styles.

Dr. Niese's research interests span several interconnected domains in social and cognitive psychology. His primary focus is on social cognition, examining how people process social information and form judgments. He has made substantial contributions to understanding sampling processes in judgment and decision making, investigating how the way people sample information affects their evaluations and choices. Another major line of his research explores visual imagery perspective and its effects on self-perception, memory, and decision making. His work on evaluative conditioning examines how repeated pairings of stimuli affect preferences and judgments. Additionally, he investigates processing styles and how they moderate the impact of various cognitive biases on expectations and decision outcomes.
