Dr. Zachary Lechette serves as a Part-Time Lecturer in the Criminal Justice Department at Belmont Abbey College. He is concurrently the Public Safety Director, Chief of Police & Fire Services for a North Carolina municipality. His professional background includes extensive law enforcement experience and teaching Basic Law Enforcement Training courses. Lechette holds a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from Nova Southeastern University, an MS from Fayetteville State University, and a BA in Criminology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
His expertise focuses on Law Enforcement Operations, Use of Force protocols, Officer Discretion practices, and Public Safety Management strategies. He teaches courses such as Law Enforcement in the U.S. and Research Methods, emphasizing practical training for criminal justice professionals.
