Zachary L. Houser

Zachary L. Houser is an Assistant Professor and Director of the Postgraduate Pediatric Dental Residency Program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) College of Dentistry, Department of Growth and Development. He practices at Children’s Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

• Education: BS in Zoology (Brigham Young University), DMD (Case Western Reserve University), MPH (UNMC), and Certificates in Advanced General Dentistry (Keesler Medical Center) and Pediatric Dentistry (Children’s Hospital Colorado).

Research focuses on pediatric dental care strategies including anticipatory guidance, behavior management, health promotion, and nutrition. He directs a federal grant on expanding school health programs and residency training. As a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, he maintains active roles in professional organizations such as the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and AAPD Postgraduate Program Directors Society.

• Service: Served as active-duty Air Force member (2003-2010), contributes to cultural competency education, and holds leadership roles in multiple dental associations.
