Research Interests
Dr Frey-Shoukry’s work is positioned at the intersection of textual criticism, creation theology, and gender ethics. Creation theology in early Judaism and Christianity forms the backbone of his monograph and numerous articles, while gender-related textual criticism drives his current Habilitation project on the figure of Junia and gendered variants in the New Testament tradition. He integrates digital humanities—corpus linguistics, semantic analysis, and manuscript databases—to illuminate reception histories of biblical texts. Additional foci include war-and-peace studies, eco-hermeneutics, and the ethical afterlives of Scripture.
