Zachariah Tritz

Dr. Zachariah Tritz is an Assistant Professor of Microbiology at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, specializing in neuroimmunology with research focusing on T cell activation mechanisms and immune responses in neurological contexts. He joined UWL in 2023 after completing his Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences at Mayo Clinic Graduate School (2023) and holds a B.A. in Chemistry from St. Olaf College (2017).

Research examines:

• Reverse MHC Class I signaling in antigen-presenting cells
• CD8+ T cell infiltration in neurological insults
• Immunotherapy for glioblastoma
• Microglia and perivascular macrophage antigen presentation
• T cell-mediated neuroinflammation

His laboratory investigates how MHC Class I-T cell receptor interactions trigger intracellular changes in antigen-presenting cells, with implications for transplant immunology and cancer immunotherapy. Current work employs molecular, cellular, and in vivo approaches to dissect these signaling pathways.

Dr. Tritz teaches Immunology (MIC 310) and develops research projects exploring fundamental immunological mechanisms and their translational applications.
