Zachariah Reagh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences at Washington University. His research focuses on how the brain encodes, stores, and retrieves experiences, particularly in aging and neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer’s disease. The Cognitive Neuroscience of Memory and Aging (CNMA) Lab employs realistic stimuli (e.g., movies, stories) alongside neuroimaging and behavioral experiments to study dynamic memory processes and brain network vulnerabilities.
Education:
- BA, BS: University of Alabama at Birmingham
- MS, PhD: University of California, Irvine
Research Interests: Reagh investigates how aging and disease affect memory systems, with a focus on brain networks critical for event-based memory. His work bridges cognitive neuroscience and clinical applications to understand age-related cognitive decline.
Recent Media: His research has been featured in articles such as Mental maps offer peek inside everyday decision-making (2024) and This is your brain on everyday life (2023), highlighting studies on spatial cognition and real-world brain activity.
Labs/Teams: Director of the CNMA Lab, which explores memory aging through interdisciplinary approaches. Office: Somers Family Hall 416E.
