Zach Ballard is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Vermont. His expertise spans dynamics, renewable energy, solid mechanics, and computational methods. He holds a B.S. from the University of Texas at Austin (2009), and M.S. and Ph.D. from Duke University (2011, 2013), where his research focused on nonlinear dynamics of ocean buoys for energy harvesting. After postdoctoral work on origami-inspired shelters at the University of Notre Dame, he joined UVM in 2015.
