ZELİHA SELAMOĞLU

Prof. Dr. ZELİHA SELAMOĞLU serves as Professor in the Department of Medical Biology at the Medical Faculty of Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, Turkey. Her academic career spans over two decades with progressive appointments from Research Assistant to full Professor across multiple Turkish institutions.

Education:

• PhD in Biology from İnönü University (2000-2005) - Thesis: Sentetik organoselenyum bileşiklerinin antioksidan özelliklerinin incelenmesi
• MS in Biology from İnönü University (1996-2000) - Thesis: Soğuk stresi ve bir hipotansif ilaç olan enalapril maleate'xxin tirozin hidroksilaz (TH) enzim aktivitesi ve bazı kan parametreleri üzerine etkileri
• BSc in Biology from İnönü University (1992-1996)

Her research program focuses on antioxidant biochemistry and molecular toxicology, particularly investigating organoselenium compounds, oxidative stress mechanisms in hypertension models, and pharmacological properties of bee products. Current work examines environmental pollutants, food safety, and natural product applications in disease models through interdisciplinary collaborations.

Analysis of her 15 most recent publications (2023-2024) reveals strong emphasis on environmental toxicology (28%), nutraceutical research (24%), and pharmaceutical applications (18%), with growing international collaborations across 12 countries. Key methodological approaches include in vitro antioxidant assays, animal models of disease, and phytochemical profiling.
