Assoc. Prof. Yılmaz KAHYAOGLU is an Associate Professor at Atatürk University's Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Musical Sciences. He holds a doctorate from İnönü University (2011) and has been affiliated with Atatürk University since 1995, progressing through roles including Research Assistant (1995–2011), Assistant Professor (2011–2020), and current Associate Professor. His research focuses on Classical Turkish Music, Music Pedagogy, and Instrumental Techniques, with special emphasis on the Kanun instrument. He has supervised 8 theses and authored over 17 publications, including studies on modal systems, performance practices, and music education. He is actively involved in funded projects, artistic performances, and academic leadership roles such as Vice Dean (2016–2021) and publication committee memberships.
