Yvonne Ziegler

Prof. Yvonne Ziegler is a Professor of Business Administration with a focus on International Aviation Management at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences (Frankfurt UAS). She has held this position since 2007 and served as Dean of Faculty 3 (Business and Law) from 2010–2013, driving applied research initiatives and securing top research funding rankings for Hesse universities. Her academic leadership includes launching the MBA Aviation & Tourism Management program (2010–2017) and the dual program in Aviation Management (2010–2013). She pioneered the Institute for Economic and Legal Research Frankfurt, aligning university goals with practical industry needs.

Education:

• Doctorate in Personnel Management from Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien (Vienna)
• Over 13 years in aviation management roles, including Director of Pricing & Yield Management at Lufthansa AG and Area Vice President at LSG Skychefs Germany.

• Aviation Management: Supply Chain, Blockchain in Logistics, Air Cargo Security, and Aviation Distribution Standards (NDC).
• Gender Studies: Career barriers for working mothers, LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion, and gender diversity in leadership roles.
• Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Risk Management: Developing IT tools for risk-based logistics and cold-chain traceability.
• EU-funded projects: A €2.9M initiative to establish an Indian-German MBA Aviation program and a Hesse LOEWE3 project for pharmaceutical risk management.

• EU Capacity Building Project (2012–2015): Partnered with India’s UPES to launch a double-degree MBA Aviation program.
• LOEWE3 Project (2017–2019): Co-led a €1M initiative creating a web-based pharmaceutical risk management tool (MYTIGATE).
• Third-party funding secured during her deanship elevated Faculty 3 to top Hessian research rankings.
