معرفی
Yvonne Oelmann is a Professor of Geoecology at the Department of Geography, University of Tübingen, Germany. Her research focuses on biogeochemical cycles, particularly phosphorus dynamics in soils and ecosystems. She has held visiting research positions at the Universidad de Concepción (Chile), Yale University (USA), and the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (Panama). Her work integrates field experiments, isotopic analysis, and microbial ecology to understand how biodiversity and environmental factors influence nutrient cycling and ecosystem functioning.
Education includes a Diploma in Landscape Ecology from the University of Münster (1999) and a PhD in Soil Science from TU Berlin (2005). She advanced through roles including Junior Professor in Geoecology at the University of Koblenz-Landau (2009–2011) before her current position. Her research spans grasslands, forests, and floodplains, addressing topics like phosphorus mobilization, microbial interactions, and climate change impacts.
Key research themes include: soil biogeochemistry, plant-microbe-soil interactions, biodiversity effects on ecosystem functions, and isotopic tracing methods. She collaborates internationally on projects such as the Jena Experiment and studies in South America, Asia, and New Zealand.
Her advising and grants include leadership in interdisciplinary projects exploring ecosystem multifunctionality and nutrient cycles. She contributes to initiatives linking experimental ecology to real-world grassland management and climate adaptation strategies.
