Yvonne I-Fang Chu

Dr. Yvonne I-Fang Chu is a Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine and practices at the Cullen Eye Institute. She serves as Deputy Eye Care Line Executive at the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Administration Hospital. Her roles include clinical care, leadership in eye care services, and academic contributions.

Education: B.A. in Biology (Texas A&M University), B.A. in Spanish (University of Texas at Austin), M.D. (Baylor College of Medicine), and M.B.A. (Rice University). Completed residencies and fellowships in Ophthalmology and Glaucoma.

Research interests focus on glaucoma management, cataract surgery, and surgical interventions for ocular hypertension. She is recognized for teaching excellence with the Dan B. Jones Teaching Award. Leadership roles include former Chief of Ophthalmology at Ben Taub Hospital and Medical Director of Eye Care Services at Harris Health System.
