Yupeng Kou

Yupeng Kou is an Associate Teaching Professor of Chinese and Coordinator of the Chinese Language Program at the Department of Asian Studies, Pennsylvania State University. The Department is part of the College of the Liberal Arts. He holds a Master of Arts in Asian Civilizations (2011) and a Ph.D. in Second Language Acquisition (2016), both from the University of Iowa.

His research interests focus on instructed second language acquisition in Chinese, particularly exploring form-meaning mappings and pedagogical strategies for learners. He also investigates testing and assessment methodologies in Chinese as a second language. Recent publications analyze the Ba-construction in L2 Chinese grammar instruction, emphasizing its acquisition in educational contexts.
