Yunqing Xuan

Dr Yunqing Xuan is an Associate Professor in Civil Engineering at Swansea University's School of Aerospace, Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. His research focuses on interdisciplinary hydro-meteorological processes, extreme event modeling, flood risk management, and climate change impacts. He leads projects integrating advanced computer modeling, remote sensing, and weather radar technologies to address water sector challenges.

Research Interests: Dr Xuan specializes in hydrological modeling interfacing with atmospheric and societal systems. Key areas include:

- GIS/remote sensing applications in flood risk management
- Weather radar and numerical weather prediction (NWP) for hydrological forecasting
- Compound flooding analysis and early warning systems
