Yunjung Kim is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, affiliated with the Department of Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sport Studies (KRSS) within the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences. Her research focuses on sociological aspects of sport, including athlete well-being, community engagement, and sexual abuse prevention in youth sports. She previously served as a postdoctoral researcher in the Global Leaders in Sport Science program at Seoul National University’s BK21 Four project.

Dr. Kim’s work bridges academic research with practical community initiatives, such as collaborating with local youth sports clubs on abuse prevention. She is also a member of the International Sociology of Sport Association (ISSA) and the North American Society for the Sociology of Sport (NASSS). Active in applied research, she participates in programs like the 2023 Fall Community Engagement Academy at UTK. Her athletic background includes swimming and curling, retiring from competitive curling in 2022.
