Yun A. Lee is an Assistant Professor of Chinese and Program Coordinator in the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures at Saint Louis University's College of Arts and Sciences. She teaches courses on modern Chinese fiction and film, global Sinophone fiction and film, and Chinese language at all levels.
Her educational background includes:

Dr. Lee's research centers on early modern Chinese fiction, Sinophone fiction and film, narrative theories, translation studies, and Chinese print culture. She investigates the transformation of Chinese short stories at the turn of the twentieth century, exploring the narrative, linguistic, and formal experiments that reshaped Chinese fiction. Her work also examines the diverse literary forms and genres that influenced this transformation.
Her recent publications focus on early twentieth-century Chinese literary magazines, translated stories, and narrative modes in short fiction from 1906-1909. She analyzes works by authors like Wu Jianren and Feng Menglong, as well as translated stories in publications such as The All-Story Monthly. Her research reveals the interplay between original Chinese narratives and translated works, highlighting the evolution of literary forms during a period of significant cultural change.
