Yukun Du is an Assistant Professor (Limited Term) in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Georgia. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of California, Davis (2024), and both an M.S. (2019) and B.S. in Mathematics & Applied Mathematics (2016) from Tsinghua University, Beijing.
His research centers on Topology, with specialized interests in Geometric Group Theory and Symmetric Spaces. Specific sub-areas include Kleinian groups (for hyperbolic and higher-rank symmetric spaces), Bruhat-Tits trees, and buildings. His doctoral work explored geometric algorithms for discrete subgroups of SL(n,R) acting on symmetric spaces.
