Yukiko Asano is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Japanese at the University of Colorado Boulder, affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences. She holds a BA in Linguistics and French from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and a PhD in Linguistics from Stony Brook University. Her research focuses on theoretical linguistics, speech processing, and cultural influences on language use, particularly in adult foreign language acquisition and writing systems. She joined CU Boulder in 2021 and has been recognized with a nomination for the Texas Foreign Language Teaching Excellence Award (2016).
