Yukari Furikado-Koranda is a Senior Lecturer in the East Asian Languages department at the School of Global Studies and Languages, University of Oregon. She teaches all levels of Japanese language courses and has extensive experience teaching English in Japan as well as Japanese in the United States.
Her research and teaching interests focus on second language acquisition, particularly exploring how environmental factors, personality, motivation, and learning styles influence effective language learning. She emphasizes developing communicative competence, open-mindedness toward new ideas and experiences, and relationship-building skills through language education.
