Yuji Umenaga is a Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology at Waseda University's Faculty of Education and Integrated Arts and Sciences, where he has served since 2015. Previously, he held professorships at Utsunomiya University (2003-2015), Meisei University (2000-2003, 1998-2000), and worked as a researcher at the National Employment Center for Persons with Disabilities (1995-1998) and as an Employment Counselor (1983-1995).
His educational background includes a Doctor of Education (1998, University of Tsukuba), Master of Education (1987, University of Tsukuba), and Bachelor of Literature (1983, Keio University). He also completed specialized training at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, TEACCH Division (2006-2007).
Professor Umenaga's research focuses on career education, social participation, and employment support for children and adults with developmental disabilities, particularly autism spectrum disorder.
