معرفی
Yui Suzuki is a Professor of Biological Sciences at Wellesley College. She leads the Suzuki Lab, focusing on evolutionary developmental biology, developmental genetics, and insect physiology. Her research explores gene-environment interactions in phenotypic plasticity and insect metamorphosis evolution.
- Education: B.A. from Bowdoin College, Ph.D. from Duke University.
Her laboratory uses Tribolium castaneum to investigate metamorphosis evolution and cellular plasticity. Collaborations include Harvard University, Northeastern University, Tufts University, and Wellesley College's Dr. Heather Mattila. She mentors student research and encourages conference participation and co-authorships.
- Scientific Awards: Dorothy and Charles Jenkins, Jr. Distinguished Chair in Science.
She teaches courses in developmental biology, evo-devo, and cell/molecular biology. Her lab members include undergraduate researchers from Wellesley and visiting students from other institutions. Outside academia, she enjoys cycling, skiing, and composing music inspired by insects.
