Yui Matsuda is a Clinical Professor in the School of Nursing and Health Studies at the University of Miami. Her primary affiliation is with the University of Miami, where she contributes to academic and clinical initiatives focused on public health, HIV care for aging populations, maternal mental health, and telehealth innovations. She is actively involved in the S.H.A.R.E. Simulation Hospital Advancing Research & Education® (S.H.A.R.E.®), a state-of-the-art facility for healthcare education and research.
Her research interests include problem-based learning in public health education, health disparities affecting Hispanic communities, and the implementation of nurse-led telehealth programs to improve neonatal care transitions. She has co-authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications, with recent work addressing vaccine uptake among Hispanic families, frailty in HIV-positive elderly patients, and maternal mental health support systems.
Matsuda’s academic contributions extend to curriculum development, simulation-based education, and culturally competent care. She collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to design interventions targeting vulnerable populations, such as improving parent-child communication about health risks and enhancing post-discharge care for neonatal patients.
