معرفی
Yufang Wang is a PhD candidate at the Centre for Linguistics, Faculty of Humanities, Leiden University, holding a research contract under primary supervision of Professor Niels Schiller with Jurriaan Witteman as co-supervisor.
Her research focuses on:
- Psycholinguistics
- Cognitive Neuroscience
- Language Production
- Mandarin Chinese Linguistics
- Experimental Linguistics
- Speech Production
Wang's doctoral work investigates semantic and lexico-syntactic mechanisms in native Mandarin Chinese word production through three integrated studies: picture-word interference experiments examining animacy effects, analysis of overlapping semantic feature impacts on word retrieval, and classifier distribution similarity research. Her methodology combines corpus linguistics, behavioral experiments, and EEG measurements including N400/P600 components.
Her dissertation The lexico-semantic representation of words in the mental lexicon (LOT Dissertation Series 701, ISBN 9789460934865) was awarded by Leiden University on 2025-09-25 after defense before committee members Chen, Burght, Lewis, and Zubicaray.
Wang employs advanced statistical analysis for multimodal linguistic data, contributing to understanding cognitive processing in tonal language production systems.
