Yueran Ma is a Professor of Finance and Co-Director of the Fama-Miller Center for Research in Finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Her work focuses on empirical studies at the intersection of finance and macroeconomics, emphasizing how corporate debt contracts and organizational dynamics influence macroeconomic outcomes. She has explored innovation, monetary policy impacts, behavioral economics insights, and real estate markets.
- Education: B.A. summa cum laude in Applied Mathematics (Harvard University), Ph.D. in Business Economics (Harvard University).
Her research includes analyses of production, innovation over centuries, and the role of low interest rates in financial markets. Recent work on monetary policy and innovation was presented at the Federal Reserve’s Jackson Hole Symposium. She also examines expectation formation in macro-finance contexts and the history of economic thought.
