Yue Hu is an Assistant Professor of Operations, Information, and Technology at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, and a Business School Trust Faculty Scholar for 2024–2025. His academic focus lies in healthcare operations management, applied probability, and optimal control theory.
Education:
- PhD in Decision, Risk, and Operations from Columbia Business School (2022)
- Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Mathematics from Northwestern University (2017)
Research Interests: Dr. Hu specializes in data-driven stochastic modeling of service systems, particularly in healthcare contexts. His work addresses challenges in emergency department staffing, resource allocation, and dynamic decision-making under uncertainty. He employs advanced methodologies from applied probability and optimal control to design efficient healthcare operations frameworks.
Recent Research Trends: His publications emphasize predictive frameworks for healthcare resource management, stochastic systems analysis, and optimization under uncertainty. Key themes include surge planning, real-time decision-making, and asymptotic optimality in resource allocation.
Awards & Recognition:
