Yue Hu is an Assistant Professor at the University of Waterloo, affiliated with the Faculty of Engineering. His research focuses on Human-Robot Interaction (HRI), assistive robotics, and control systems with a particular emphasis on safety, adaptability, and user experience. Key areas include robot emotional expressions, physical interaction safety, and real-time systems for social robots. He leads the Active and Interactive Robotics Lab, developing solutions for mobility assistance, teleoperation systems, and cybersecurity in robotics.
