Dr. Yue Gai is a Lecturer in Economics at Swansea University, affiliated with the School of Social Sciences within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. His research focuses on applied macroeconomics, DSGE modeling, housing market stability, and financial stability in the UK and China. Previously, he served as a Research Associate at Cardiff University’s Julian Hodge Institute of Applied Macroeconomics and held roles as a University Professor and part-time lecturer.
Education: PhD in Economics (Cardiff Business School, 2019). Teaching expertise spans macroeconomics, microeconomics, econometrics, banking, and finance at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Research highlights include developing a two-region model to address UK regional income disparities and analyzing housing collateral impacts on China’s business cycle.
Collaborations involve co-authorship with prominent economists like Prof. Minford. He supervises PhD students in applied macroeconomics and housing stability. Office located at Keir Hardie Building, Singleton Campus.
