Yuanyuan Zhou

Professor Yuanyuan Zhou is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the School of Engineering, HKUST. His research focuses on advancing perovskite solar cells for urban solar energy applications through structural innovation to address stability challenges.

His work envisions scalable, cost-effective solar cells that can be integrated onto building surfaces, leveraging perovskite's flexibility, color tunability, and transparency. This aligns with global renewable energy goals and urban sustainability initiatives.

Prof. Zhou actively mentors students in a multidisciplinary research group, fostering collaborative innovation that has resulted in publications in top-tier journals like Science and Nature Energy. He maintains an open-door policy to facilitate dynamic academic exchange.
