Yu Ssu-Han

Yu Ssu-Han is a Visiting Fellow at the European Research Center on Contemporary Taiwan, Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, and a PhD candidate at the Department of Media and Communications, London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Her research focuses on political generations, media mediation, and children’s internet use. She co-authored work on the Global Kids Online project, investigating digital opportunities and risks across countries.

Education:

• PhD Candidate in Media and Communications (LSE, ongoing)
• Previous research at National Taiwan University (NTU) on health communication funded by Taiwan's Ministry of Science and Technology

Research Interests: Generational theory, political engagement among youth, media's role in shaping democratic participation, and digital media's impact on children. She analyzes the Sunflower Generation using Karl Mannheim's theory and Roger Silverstone's mediation concepts.

Labs/Teams: Collaborated on the Global Kids Online project with Prof. Sonia Livingstone and Dr. Mariya Stoilova at LSE.
