Yong Kwon Cho

Dr. Yong Kwon Cho is Professor in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Georgia Tech. His research develops robotics and sensing technologies for construction automation, infrastructure maintenance, and disaster response. He leads the RICAL laboratory pioneering AI applications in built environments.

Research thrusts include:

• Human-robot collaboration on construction sites
• LiDAR-based structural inspection systems
• UAV-UGV coordination for 3D mapping

Honored with the Tucker-Hasegawa Award (2022) for sustained contributions to construction robotics and NSF CAREER award (2011). Previously taught at University of Nebraska-Lincoln and University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
