Yong Jiang

Yong Jiang, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Oncology and Internal Medicine with expertise in cancer biology and molecular signaling pathways. He holds a PhD from Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed postdoctoral training at MUSC and CCF. His research focuses on tumor progression mechanisms via TGF-β and Wnt/β-catenin pathways, as well as innovative therapies using exosomes and radionuclide delivery systems.

Research Interests:

• Identification of novel therapeutic targets to inhibit cancer metastasis/chemoresistance
• Engineering exosomes for targeted cancer therapy
• Enhancing radionuclide therapy efficacy through specific delivery systems

Recent work demonstrates contributions to understanding endothelial-mesenchymal transition in atherosclerosis and protein roles (e.g., DSTYK) in cancer progression. His lab's interdisciplinary approach combines biochemistry, cell biology, and translational medicine to advance cancer treatment paradigms.

Teaching focuses include Cancer Biology, Cell Biology, Immunology, and Biochemistry. Collaborations involve multidisciplinary teams addressing critical challenges in precision oncology and drug delivery mechanisms.
