Yoly Mercado is a part-time Professor at California State University, Hayward, with a focus on education and language acquisition. She has played a significant leadership role in the Stanford World Language Program (SWLP) since 1996, leading seminars and workshops on Thematic Unit Design, Heritage Language Acquisition, English as a Second Language (ESL), Equity, Social Justice, Oral Classroom Competency, Writing Competency, and Leadership. Additionally, she served as an advisor for new teachers at the Stanford Graduate School of Education.
