Yohan Seol

Yohan Seol is a postdoctoral researcher at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ), affiliated with the Department of Cell Toxicology since November 2024. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and a Master's in Ecotoxicology, with a PhD in Environmental Chemistry from Dresden University of Technology.

His research focuses on environmental hazard assessment of emerging contaminants, including ionic surfactants and hydrogen carrier systems, using high-throughput screening and bioassay integration. He contributes to the CoModHaz project and the nanoINHALE cohort, which investigates airborne nanoplastics and associated chemical risks.

Yohan collaborates within interdisciplinary teams at UFZ and participates in international initiatives like the OECD Horizontal Meeting on Nanomaterials. His work aligns with the Safe-by-Design approach and supports sustainable chemical risk governance frameworks.
