Yogita Goyal is a Professor of English and African American Studies at UCLA, specializing in race, postcolonialism, and Black diaspora studies. Her work bridges African American and African literature, emphasizing transnational frameworks. She holds a Ph.D. from Brown University (2003) and degrees from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University. Goyal’s research includes seminal books like *Romance, Diaspora, and Black Atlantic Literature* (2010) and *Runaway Genres: Global Afterlives of Slavery* (2019), recognized with awards such as the René Wellek Prize. She has edited influential volumes and served as editor of *Contemporary Literature* and President of A.S.A.P. Her current projects explore refugee aesthetics and anticolonial theory. Goyal has held fellowships from ACLS and NEH, and teaches courses on migration, postcolonial theory, and global literature.
