Yingrui Li serves as a Vice-Chancellor’s Fellow in the School of Biosciences within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Surrey. He is concurrently the co-founder and chief scientist of iCarbonX, a pioneering data-driven healthcare company established in 2015. Prior to this, he was chief scientist at BGI Genomics (2010-2015), leading major genomic initiatives including the First Asian Genome Project and the 1000 Genomes Project.
His research expertise spans bioinformatics, genomics, and machine learning, with core interests in bioinformatics algorithms, statistical genetics, data mining, and multiomics modeling for health prediction and disease prevention. He develops advanced data architectures to integrate diverse biological datasets and drive precision medicine innovation.
