Prof. Yingkun Li is an accomplished mathematician specializing in number theory and modular forms. He served as an Assistant Professor at Technische Universität Darmstadt (2018–2024) and is currently a visiting researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics (MPIM) and the University of Bonn, supported by the DFG Heisenberg Program. His research focuses on automorphic forms, theta functions, and harmonic Maass forms, with notable contributions to the study of CM-values, Green functions, and singular units in elliptic curves.
Education includes a B.S. from Caltech (2009), M.A. and Ph.D. from UCLA (2013), advised by William Duke. He has held postdoctoral positions at Cologne and Köln universities. Awards include NSF Postdoctoral and Graduate Fellowships, and leadership in DFG-funded projects like Collaborative Research Center 326 (GAUS).
Teaching spans advanced courses in number theory, algebraic geometry, and topology at TU Darmstadt and Johannes Gutenberg Universität Mainz. He actively organizes international conferences and seminars, including the 'International Seminar on Automorphic Forms.' His academic network includes collaborations with leading mathematicians like Jan Bruinier and Kathrin Bringmann.
